Join us tonight at 6 p.m. for the first in Philadelphia magazine’s Candidate Conversations: a series of informal but informative Q&As with the mayoral contenders.

Our first contestant is Doug Oliver, the 40-year-old former spokesman for Mayor Nutter has started to make some noise in the race in recent weeks, with a campaign launch speech that might have been the best of any candidate, a detailed education policy paper and, most intriguingly, the prospect of a potential endorsement from none other than Ed Rendell.

Is Oliver up to the job? Holly Otterbein will put him through the paces tonight, and we’ll grill him with the best questions from our smart audience as well.

The event is free and open to the public. Event host Venturef0rth—one of the city’s premier co-working locations—is providing drinks and snacks. We ask that you RSVP here, but if you don’t get a chance feel free to show up anyway.
