It’s about that time again to get your applications in for Philly Startup Leaders’ startup accelerator. The program’s organizers want to help the city’s entrepreneurs move their businesses to the next level. The application period is now open and will close on November 1st.

Through the accelerator, business teams with a product prototype will meet with guest speakers from the field every Tuesday for two hours to work through a program packed with information on building a company and launching a brand. Last year’s program highlights include sessions on goal setting and prioritizing, social media and marketing strategy and how to tell your startup’s story.

Teams will be paired with mentors—leaders from the Philadelphia startup community who share an industry background with participants. And for the first time, PSL will have the teams pitch their business plans at the annual Founder Factory entrepreneurship conference in December.

Last year in its third year, 70 teams applied for the 12-week accelerator but could only seven were accepted. The teams included LocalStove, the company that allows you to run a food business from your home, gaming company Red Queen Gaming and TresseNoir, the service that allows users to order a hairstylist to a destination of their choice.

“We like to keep the program small to be able to give each team the resources they need,” said Sarah Noderer, PSL’s entrepreneur in residence. “Our mission is to build more successful startups in Philly.”
