INDIANAPOLIS — The Eagles released linebacker DeMeco Ryans, the team announced Wednesday afternoon. Ryans arrived in Philadelphia via trade from Houston in 2012.

The Eagles saved $3.5 million in 2016 cap space by cutting Ryans, who was in the final year of his deal. With Ryans out, Kiko Alonso, Jordan Hicks and Mychal Kendricks will likely be the three starting linebackers next season.

Doug Pederson and Howie Roseman will address the release when they talk to the media at the combine at 4:15 and 4:30.
