With a home loss to Dallas Sunday night, the Eagles will need some help over the final two weeks of the regular season to make the playoffs.

If the season ended today, the Eagles would be on the outside looking in. Here’s how it breaks down:

1. Arizona (11-3)
2. Detroit (10-4)
3. Dallas (10-4)
4. Carolina (5-8-1)
5. Seattle (10-4)
6. Green Bay (10-4)
———–
7. Philadelphia (9-5)

The Eagles’ best chance of getting in is by winning the division. The Cowboys host the Colts next Sunday before finishing up in Washington. If they drop one of those games and the Eagles win out, the Eagles will claim the NFC East with a better division record.

It will be difficult for the Eagles to get in as a Wild Card. Arizona, Seattle and Green Bay hold the tiebreaker over the Eagles since they beat them head-to-head, and Detroit would have the edge because of a superior conference record. Arizona clinched a playoff berth this weekend. Either Green Bay, Detroit or Seattle,  then, would have to lose out and the Eagles would have to win out in order for Philly to get in.

The Eagles travel to Washington next Saturday and then finish the regular season in New York.
