What Foles’ Monster Day Means

Eagles QB Nick Foles evades the Cowboys' rush. 10/20/13OAKLAND — After Nick Foles‘ fifth touchdown toss of the day — a swing pass to LeSean McCoy that went 25 yards early in the third — Chip Kelly found the quarterback on the sideline, pulled him close for an extended word and gave him a slap on the helmet as he walked away, smiling. Assistant coaches and teammates followed suit. That was just the start of what became a parade of atta-boys that streamed Foles’ way for the rest of the game.

It was a far cry from the scene that unfolded at the Linc just two weeks before when a concussed Foles gingerly walked off the field and was greeted by doctors, who mercifully put an end to the worst game of the quarterback’s career. Foles spent the next couple days recovering  from a head injury while dealing with the gnawing feeling that he let his team down.

“It was tough,” the quarterback admitted this week.

He said he never let his mind wonder to the potential long-term ramifications of that outing. Maybe that's true, but the 24-year-old is fully aware of how unforgiving this league is -- especially to QBs drafted outside of the first round. If Michael Vick stays healthy, who knows when (or where) his next opportunity comes.

Vick didn't stay healthy and, as it turns out, Foles got a shot at redemption just 14 days after letting a good opportunity slip away. Safe to say he made the most of it.

Foles ended 22-of-28 for 406 yards with seven touchdowns, zero interceptions and a perfect quarterback rating of 158.3. The seven touchdowns tied an NFL record. The only other Eagle to accomplish the feat was Adrian Burk back in 1954 against Washington. The next closest was five by Donovan McNabb and Randall Cunningham, among others.

The list of players to throw seven TDs in a game:

Sid Luckman (Bears) 1943
Adrian Burk (Phi) 1954
George Blanda (Hou) 1961
Y.A. Tittle (NYG) 1962
Joe Knapp (Min) 1969
Peyton Manning (Den) 2013
Nick Foles (Phi) 2013

The Raiders' defense didn't offer much resistance. There were plenty of blown assignments and the secondary had a tough time staying on its feet. But you can't take anything away from Foles. He was sensational, and had one of the best statistical performances in NFL history.

Kelly recently likened the quarterback position to golf, where a big day can quickly be followed by a horrible showing. He said the key for Foles is consistency.

Time will tell if Foles, who followed an NFC Player of the Week performance against the Giants with a clunker the next week, can provide what Kelly is looking for over the long haul. There are plenty of tests still to come before Foles is crowned anything.

What Sunday's performance does is resuscitate hope that the Eagles may have an answer at quarterback on the roster. How much hope depends on who you talk to.

Foles appears to have a supporter in Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, who told CSNPhilly last week that Foles  “has a lot going for him.”

“A lot,” Lurie added. “He’s going to have an opportunity now to show us all. We just have to be supportive. I hope the players around him protect him well so we can see him flourish, and [to] know what we have going forward would be great.”

    Whoooooooooooooooo!

  • http://abigbuttandasmile.com/ A Big Butt and a Smile

    Still in the playoff hunt.

    • dc

yeah baby. keep your eye on the prize.

    • Mr. Magee

Stop worrying about the playoffs. Sheesh.

    • Andy124

      Playoffs?! We talking ’bout playoffs?!

    • Kev_H

Foles will only get better and this team with him. This is the most Super Bowl competitive Eagle team since TO. I posted it a month ago and I stand by it.

  • Bdawk20

This performance leads me to believe that Foles had some type of injury during Dallas, he was soo off that game…

    • Justin

If I’m not mistaken, he sustained a groin injury in practice during the week before that game.

      • Andy124

I believe the groin injury was on the report before the TB game. Not listed for the Dallas game.I keep saying this, but if we’re going with the injury angle, concussion on the first series fits the symptoms the best. One of the guys, knighn maybe?, reviewed the plays a found a hit on the first drive that could have been the culprit.

        • Justin

I could be wrong. I’ve been up since 4:30 this morning for work, then had some drinks at the bar during the game. I’m pretty tired.

        • knighn

Wish I could take credit but that wasn’t me. Personally I didn’t like anything about Foles in that game against the Cowboys, including his body language at the start of the game. Hope to never see that again. Hope to see a lot more of what we’ve seen today.

          • Andy124

pennquino would be my second guess then.

          • pjcostello

            Me me me! :-D

        • hillbillybirdsfan

I feel like he got whacked early as well. I’ve seen him play poorly before but it was always from getting baited by veteran db’s or those crappy deep balls he was throwing last year. The Dallas game was unique among his starts. I don’t think he’s 7td-a-game good but he seems to be growing into a dependable QB.

          • Andy124

I don’t see how you can say he’s not 7td-a-game good. He’s thrown 7tds in 100% of his last 1 games. C’mon, what’s it gonna take?

          • HowboutdemIggles

I think its impossible to throw 7 a game let’s not get silly, I do think he can get 3 consistently though.

          • Andy124

Only because things aren’t always clear on the internet… I was kidding.

          • jshort

Not that it was worth taking the risk. If left in he might have gotten #8

          • hillbillybirdsfan

Aw hell, sample size be damned, you’re right! Beers for everyone!

        • pjcostello

Me me me, second paly of the game a 9-yard sack must have cleaned his clock.

          • Andy124

Like I said all along, it was that pjcostello fella.

          • pjcostello

Thank you, thank you. No applause necessary, but I do accept cash, traveler’s checks and forged, third-party out of state checks.

Someone other than myself first mentioned it the day after the game, and I went back and looked, and he did get creamed on that sack. He looked befuddled and lost all day. Not to make excuses for the guy, exactly… if he was hurt he had a responsibility to tell the coaches and doctors, and he obviously didn’t.

      • Filadelfia

“if we’re going with the injury angle, concussion on the first series fits the symptoms the best.”

He played hurt in that game. He is growing into one hell of a player.

    • dc

      i agree

    • BrickSquadMonopoly

Yeah that’s an excuse though. Just like Vick sitting out 4 weeks after pulling a hamstring. I pulled one in 4th grade once…got over it in 3 days

      • Andy124

        Can’t tell if serious…

      • pjcostello

Pulled hamstrings used to be season-ending, back in the day.

    • pjcostello

Second play of the game against Dallas, Foles gets clocked for a 9-yard sack… the rest is history.

      • Bdawk20

There was an article in the (inferior) inquirer where Foles says he gives himself 24 hours to forget the previous game, success or failure. Wonder if he forgot that game before it was over…

        • pjcostello

LMAO!! Probably, yes, especially after that third quarter crunching he took, that finally pushed him from the game. Amazing he was able to hide the early concussion from the team, coaches and doctors, particularly at halftime.

  • Justin

What it means is, Kelly HAS to keep going with Foles.

    • BlindChow

Naw, Vick won the job in training camp.

      • Justin

        Are you trolling me?

        • Andy124

No, he’s just being frickin funny as hell. He does that fairly often.

  • GEAGLE

Green Bay is in F’ing trouble…put it to you THAT way!!!

  • DirtyWaters

So funny. NFC Offensive player of the week. Would really love to string together a win streak, get some consistency. Love that the defense has only given up 20 points in a while. Let’s put it all together now

    • G_WallyHunter

i think it’s under 20 over the last 5 games, beauty

      • DirtyWaters

Yeah. Since Denver. I’m totally cool with the “bend don’t break” JJ philosophy, I just want a fearsome secondary…

    • GEAGLE

Defense gave up 20 points against an offense that ran 94 plays

      • BlindChow

Chip’s gonna be pissed that we lost the play count battle.

      • DirtyWaters

I would really live to think that the only numbers that matter are points and wins. I’m so naive.

  • Adam

It was an alright game I guess

    • Andy124

      Enough with the hyperbole already.

  • Joe from Easton

Wow, what a game by the birds! Foles ties an NFL record and we’re right there in the division. I love it.

  • BlindChow

Dammit, Foles WOULD have to wait until after the trade deadline before turning in this performance…

    • Justin

Who the hell would trade for Vick?

      • Andy124

        Virginia Tech.

  • Andy124

One of the “knocks” on Nick after the Tampa and NYG games were that he didn’t lead long drives. Scratch that one off the list. Now we just need to see durability and consistency. Call me a homer, but I’m going to let myself feel optimistic about that.

  • therealpistolp

Foles starting QB going forward or nah??? Helluva game

    • Vick Must Go

      Yes he is

  • dislikedisqus

It means the Rapture is at hand.

    • nicksaenz1

With the Sixers starting 3-0, it just might be.

  • knighn

I think this game proves that Mike Vick can slide… down a depth chart.

    • Justin

      Oh god I’m in tears.

    • Vick Must Go

      Best…. Post… Ever…

    • knighn

For the record I don’t hate Vick or anything. I didn’t think The Eagles should have brought back Vick before the start of the season because I thought he was close to done. It wasn’t because I thought Foles was capable of anything like this. I just wanted to see what Foles was capable of. Once Vick won the job I was hoping we’d get to see close to a full season of Vick at his best. Sadly Time eventually catches all players, including the fastest QB in the history of the NFL.

    • Dr Rick

Not sure why a great game by Foles is an opportunity by the OP to denigrate another of our teams QBs in MV. I have never bee a big MV fan, for lots of reasons, but it seems like a cheap shot. Just my opinion. YMMV. Lots of thumbs up says many agree but I don’t.

      • Nah__Roots

You must be new here. Also, the OP is the same one who buried his head in the dirt after the Dallas game.

        • knighn

Click on my name and scroll. I made plenty of postings both after the Cowboys game and after the Giants game. Do I post every day? Generally, no. But I do try to get on here at least once a week.

      • knighn

It’s humor, not hate. Apparently you didn’t seen the other posting I made.

      • Vick Must Go

Vick sucks regardless of what Foles does

  • knighn

This game makes GEagle look like a genius and makes Dutch look like…

    • Vick Must Go

      Yes!!!

    • BrickSquadMonopoly

He spends more time posting comments on this website than you do sleeping. Genius isn’t the word.

    • GEAGLE

I was already a genius the moment you realized you weren’t going to watch a pathetic, talentless defense all years like the writers and analysts would lead you to believe :)

      • knighn

        Humble as always, I see!
Pretty sure you were predicting BEFORE this game that the Eagles were NOT going to take a QB early in the 2014 draft. Even after that Cowboys Clunker. Got to give you credit: you’ve been consistent in your Foles support.

        • GEAGLE

Just breaking balls..in reality, I would prefer to not even talk about FOles..I just hear so much ridiculous judgements of a kid who hasn’t even had a chance to grow yet, that I feel the need to be vocal and try to balance the scales….
          ..
You have to admit, I fought with everyone for months about FOles and that we had better defenders and a better DC then we thought..so if that’s what I believed for MONTHS, how do you think it felt to be a fan reading every single day about how we had no talent on defense and that we would have a historically bad year again? Or that FOles was nothing more then a career back up? That’s all I read for MONTHS…it gets frustrating…. FOles may be a backup, but NO ONE has enough intel to make that statement accurately, so wtf is the point of trashing a kid before he is given some kind of a real chance? I don’t like seeing him judged after Dallas, and I don’t even like seeing him judged after 7TDs…after 9 games, at the most challenging(mentally) position in football, we simply have no way of telling what he will be…rather sit back and wait, but if I have to hear people kill the kid everywhere I turn, then I’m going to speak up…

Dallas didn’t make him a career back up..and yesterday didn’t make him the franchise…but yesterday does mean that you now Have to make a real investment to growing him and finding out,,,If we have NO clue about an Eagle, I would rather error on the side of supporting a young eagle! then error on the side of Killing him..

The kid has the POTENTIAL to be our guy, it’s REAL!!! What he does with that potential is another story…the fact that he is humble n hardworking is an encouraging sign..the fact that even in horrible games he doesn’t throw INTs is an encourage sign, the fact he bounced back making history after such a horrible Dallas game is an encouraging sign…will all those encouraging signs add up to blossom into a F FANCHISE Stud..

LETS FIND OUT!!! And not waste more time!

  • hawaiieaglesfan

Wow with the qb situation and d with our team did not see this coming. 7 tds with no picks 158 qbr. HOLY $H1π!!! D Playing great too. Am I dreaming?

  • Vick Must Go

Will Foles start for the rest of the year???

    Last 4 Vick Games:
    39/80, 49% completion, 584 yards, 7.3 y/a, 1 TD, 3 Int, 1-4 overall record

    Last 5 Foles Games:
    74/117, 63% comp, 1028 yards, 8.8 y/a, 13 TD, 0 Int, 2-1 overall record

    Enough said?

    • James

And what teams were they up against? Foles plays lights out against terrible teams. I am still waiting to see him light up a good team.

      • Kev_H

When will Vick light up a team? The Raiders only gave up one 15+ yd TD pass before today. Today they gave up many.

        • James

          Washington? San Diego?

          • NJDIII

Vick can’t stay healthy…. That’s the bottom line.

      • EaglesPulse

terrible teams? Just so you know Oakland is a top 10 defense even if they didn’t play like it yesterday. I’m not jumping back on the Foles bus until I see consistency. But to say he was up against a bad defense, you’re just flat out wrong. Same against the Bucs game.

I’m certain Andy Reid’s son is haunting Lincoln Financial lol. That is a joke….sort of.

      • HowboutdemIggles

Haters do the same thing to everyone that’s why they’re haters. Someone does something amazing, and it’s they played nobody, and one bad game like Foles had vs Dallass and now that’s the real Foles not one that can actually be good, we just decide first off before anything that the guys a bum.

        • James

No I just want to see him against a good team, this weekend will be a great test for him. His game against the Raiders was brilliant but they aren’t exactly a good football team.

          • GEAGLE

Oh stop it you DOPE!!! That was a top 10 defense who was 3-1 at home…stop with the bull…that was a nasty pass rush who terrorized roethlisberger the week before…let’s minimize what Foles did because peters stonewalled the great lamarr Houston and our Oline SONED their Dline..GTFO. Here!!
            ..
FOles is beating good defenses who stifled some damn good QBs weeks prior, and dudes diminish it because the opposing offense sucks..GTFO…Aaron Rodgers couldn’t have hung with Nick yesterday, s I don’t give a darn what opposing offenses we faced, we, not just FOles, but WE just made a top 10 defense look like a joke…that’s reality

          • James

Are you serious? The Steelers have one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL, it wasn’t due to the Raiders ‘nasty pass rush’. And did you seriously just say Rodgers couldn’t have hung with Foles?? My god some of the Foles fan boys are laughable. I want to see him do it against a team with a winning record and I will be more convinced. Right now the only thing I am convinced of is that we need to find our franchise QB in the draft because I don’t think we have one on our roster.

      • Vick Must Go

Okay, James… I’m going to offer you facts about Foles and Vick. Facts. All you Vick lovers spout your subjective opinions and offer nothing of substance.

Defenses by total yards rank per QB:
        Vick: NYG 15, NYG 15, Den 24, KC 8, SD 28, Was 30. Average 20th
        Foles: Den 24, NYG 15, TB 17, Dal 31, Oak 18. Average, 21st

        Defenses by scoring
        Vick NYG 28, NYG 28, Den 25, KC 1, SD 11, Was 31. Average 21st
        Foles: Den 25, NYG 28, TB 17, Dal 15, Oak 19. Average, 21st

        Defenses by passing yards
        Vick: NYG 16, NYG 16, Den 30, KC 3, SD 27, Was 28. Average 20th
        Foles: Den 30, NYG 16, TB 15, Dal 31, Oak 24. Average 23rd

Looks like they’ve faced pretty even competition overall… doesn’t it. Quit huffing paint thinner and start using those remaining brain cells.

    • UKEagle99

Last 5 games for Foles and he’s only 2-1 overall record?

      • Vick Must Go

Yup, look at the games. The 1st game was Denver. Foles came in end of 4th quarter. Hard to put that loss on him. The 2nd game, Foles came in against the NYG and won. I would love to count that as a win, but the Vick enthusiasts would say that Vick had the lead when he got injured. So I counted that win for neither of them. Foles has started 3 games but played in 5… hence, 2-1. If you want to count NYG, 3-1.

  • d.j

I think this game means we wont be hearing from Marcus Vicks ignorant ass.

  • HowboutdemIggles

No doubt about it, Nick is the starting quarterback for this team, at least for the rest of the season, no matter what happens to Vick or if Foles gets hurt, no question who the QB should be.

  • Weapon Y

Foles should now be the permanent 2013 starter. He should get seven games to prove he also deserves to be the permanent 2014 starter.

  • HowboutdemIggles

Two weeks ago Nick Foles sustained a concussion vs Dallass. A concussion is when the brain is traumatized causing the brain to hit the skull. Today he didn’t need said brain, because he was out of his mind.

  • Mike B

So the question is still out there: Is Foles a franchise QB? I don’t know, but only time will tell. He is only in his 2nd year and only has 9 starts. And you could argue he only has 3 starts behind a healthy o-line. Yeah he had a clunker against Dallas, but all young qb’s have clunkers. But he did bounce back with a vengence today against a supposed top 10 defense. Heck, Tampa was a top 10 d as well and he did pretty good in that game too didn’t he?

  • Tom w

I don’t think foles is a franchise qb … Weak arm deep sideline and slow as any qb and inconsistent. This win and a couple more only hurts our draft choice to get a real franchise qb. Pointless. I’m guessing we end up 11-15 in draft order missing out on teddy mariotta and manzel. Chip sticks w foles another yr and gets rid of Vick unless someone gives us an Alex smith like offer

    • HowboutdemIggles

So 11-5 is somehow a bad thing? GTFOH.

  • Pennguino

Just ran some numbers on Foles. Over the last eight starts (this years stats and the last 5 games from last year) he has played pretty well. This is based on just over 8 games total.

    192/305 (63%) 2304 (Yds) 18 (TDs) 2 (INTs)

This is not bad for half a season of work. I’ll take 4600 yards, 36 TDs, and only 4 INTs for a year from my QB. 155 pass attempts since his last INT. The most impressive thing is the low INT ratio he has. With a running game he may average 30 pass attempts a game. That is 2 INTs in 10 games. If the RB’s are running it in and he is only getting 1 or 2 TD’s a game, I don’t care. I don’t need a QB to be a superman hero ball guy. As long as we are scoring TD’s in the red zone, it’s all good. He has never been a INT guy. Coming in cold in the Dallas game and his first start as a rookie he had a total or 3 INT’s. Then he only had 2 more the rest of the season. The TD/INT ratio is franchise worthy.

    • BQNinja

Going from the start of 2012, he has the lowest INT/ATT ratio of any QB with more than 350 attempts with .014. Next is Rodgers with .015.

      • Mr. Magee

        Wow, is that true?!

      • Pennguino

        That is a great stat.

      • Kev_H

And that is for the beginning of his career when most guys struggle. This guy has been amazing.

  • Adam
  • GEAGLE

This is a travesty…FOles should have 8 games of experience, and a half a season worth of first team reps under his belt…who knows who he would be by now…It’s tragic that we waisted 5 games of his development

    • Eagles4Life

Stop it. He didn’t win the job initially, so he had to sit. Now, he’s presumably going to get his chance. Wait it out.

  • DryBird

Great article. I can’t figure out why so many people want Foles to fail. Because he can’t run like Marcus Marriota? because he was a third round pick? because there’s not a sexy redemption story involved. It is scary to trust the franchise we love to him, but I think as a full time starter he can be a top 10 QB. Side note: NFC Offensive Player of the week was from the Bucs game (which I know Tim and Sheil know just small mistake)

  • Eagles4Life

I was never on the Foles bandwagon, but the kid had an amazing game today. Looking back at the Dallas game, I wonder if he didn’t have that concussion earlier than when it was found. He’s taking advantage of opportunities, and this defense is gelling…let’s not forget about that in all the “arguments” being made about his W/L record vs Vick’s.

That being said, the kid should get a shot for the rest of the season just to see what he’s got. He’s doing what he’s supposed to do and he’s gotten a LOT of style points doing it. I’d like to see what he does to prove himself as a franchise QB moving forward. If he is, cool. If not, #Mariota2014 lol.

    • pjcostello

Gotta spell it right if you’re gonna invent the hashtag: #Mariota2014.

      • Eagles4Life

        Lol got it.

  • BleedGreenJames

Thank god Foles repaired his trade value yesterday.

    • Loke1988

      dumbarse

  • Loke1988

Stay the F off my band wagon Vick lovers and Foles doubters. I told he had a groin against Dallas.

  • Bird of Prey

You guys are killing me! ESPN was joking last night that Kelly said Vick was still the starter when he comes back, and now reading this blog I’m LMAO! Foles is essentially in his first season, Plays great when he gets in, wins the game, Tampa Bay(really good D), Offensive player of the month. A week later, the “phantom of the Linc” takes over, and he can’t hit a lake standing on a boat in the middle of it. Get’s in yesterday best Eagles QB performance ever. That 3 to 1 on the good/bad meter this year, and that’s pretty good for a guy who’s just starting to get consistent time. I hope he continues to play real well this year, the alternative is 6 or 7 int’s, 0 TD’s, and a QB rating lower than Slingblade’s IQ.

  • GEAGLE

Yesterday FOles graduated from his Saint Nick moniker. Going forward, what’s it going to be?
    ..
    1) paging “Doctor FOles” to surgery at Lambeau?
    Or
    2) Nick “The RainMaker” FOles?

  • cliff4d

the other qb’s to throw 7 td in a single game:
peyton manning (future hof, superbowl champ), sid luckman (hof, champ), joe knapp (super bowl loss), ya tittle (hof, champ), george blanda (hof, champ), adrian burke (journeyman)… this is a good list to be on- 4 out of 6 are all timers

  • Pennguino

He played an excellent game today. He read the defense and made the right throws and was accurate. He used his head with looking off receivers, staring down others to manipulate the defense only to throw it to the open guy, and using pump fakes. He worked that game like a magician.

  • FMWarner

I can’t believe you’d find a way to throw shade on a guy who threw 7 touchdowns and only 6 incompletions. But the fact that you didn’t recognize the list of all time greats that share the record with Foles makes it a little easier to understand.

Is the guy the answer? Who knows. But today isn’t the day to pick him apart.

  • Kev_H

If you don’t recognize those names you are either A) 12 or B) not a fan of football. 3 HOFers + Peyton Manning!!!!

  • mrparabolic

There’s a reason you didn’t recognize most of the names on the list: What Foles did hasn’t been done since the ’60s (with the exception of Peyton, obviously).

  • Kev_H

Who are they gonna get? 29 year old Peyton Manning?

  • Kev_H

    You are deranged.

  • HowboutdemIggles

When you’re on a list with them, that’s saying something is what the comment means. You’re just never going to give the guy credit, so your credibility means nothing and your ignorance of history is shite as well. Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Stafford, Jay Cutler. have never thrown 7 TD’s, but now Nick does it and it’s nothing? Give me a break. I wonder what you would say if Vick had done it.

  • GEAGLE

    Realistic? Lol that’s rich

  • Joe from Easton

So are you saying that Nick Foles was the luckiest QB in NFL history yesterday?

  • mrparabolic

You are a world class moron. You try to make a point. I point out that it doesn’t make any sense. And you reply with, “No shit! Obviously I don’t make any sense! Why would I ever make sense?!?!?”

Seriously! How god-damned stupid can a person be? How have you not drowned in your own saliva by now?

  • UKEagle99

I reckon Donovan tallied that up and there were 2 ties in there.

  • Vick Must Go

Negatory. See above. Sound reasoning for the 2-1 record in 5 games. Though… if you want to give Foles a 3-1 record I’m all for it.

  • pjcostello

So what? It’s called HAVING AN OPINION, idiot. I’ve been your stupid crap all day. Are you the only one allowed to post now? Did I miss another memo? Peddle your negativity elsewhere. It’s neither interesting nor informative — nor particularly intelligent. Based on your posts, I suspect all three are true of you, as well. Have a crappy night!

  • pjcostello

LMAO!! What are you, twelve??? Get a life, moron. I’m done with you. Bye now.

  • pjcostello

Kid, I’m smart enough not to have any more interactions with a snot-nosed idiot sitting in his Mommy’s basement, with nothing better to do than rip the Eagles and their fans with is Internet-fueled beer muscles. What an a$$clown.

  • knighn

    Ok. I hate you.

  • Vick Must Go

Sure, I’m happy to. But you then have to bow down before me for showing you my far superior football knowledge and admit that Vick is clearly the inferior QB on this team. I posted this above:

Defenses by total yards rank per QB:
    Vick: NYG 15, NYG 15, Den 24, KC 8, SD 28, Was 30. Average 20th
    Foles: Den 24, NYG 15, TB 17, Dal 31, Oak 18. Average, 21st

    Defenses by scoring
    Vick NYG 28, NYG 28, Den 25, KC 1, SD 11, Was 31. Average 21st
    Foles: Den 25, NYG 28, TB 17, Dal 15, Oak 19. Average, 21st

    Defenses by passing yards
    Vick: NYG 16, NYG 16, Den 30, KC 3, SD 27, Was 28. Average 20th
    Foles: Den 30, NYG 16, TB 15, Dal 31, Oak 24. Average 23rd

Those opponents look pretty similar to me… too bad Vick is just terrible. I’ll await your bowing…

  • Vick Must Go

It is hard to argue with someone with a single digit IQ. Until Vick or Foles plays defense, the opposing teams offense means nothing. The only thing that would affect could be the overall record. So take the record out of the equation and just look at passing stats, TDs, INTs, completion percentage, QB rating, etc.

  • Vick Must Go

Denver’s not winning games for their defense…

  • Vick Must Go

So so sad… so so stupid… No, you exposed yours. Denver is getting gashed by the pass. Their wins have nothing at all to do with their defense. Vick should have thrown for 1000 yards against them.

I’m so sad for you… to live with that brain your whole life. I’m fairly certain you could get a good government aid package. Maybe get some government cheese, or an Obama phone. Possibly you can be on Judge Judy. Keep reaching for the stars, and maybe someday even Springer.

  • Vick Must Go

Ugh, exactly… they are getting gashed in the pass because Manning is killing the other team. And Vick hung a massive 13 points on them. 14/27 for 248 and no TDs. Whoopie.

Look, the world needs ditch diggers too. I appreciate a man like you that can strap his drool guard on and just complete a job that requires no intelligence that will almost certainly be replaced by monkeys int he next generation. God knows I like my highways to be clean… so when I see a guy like you in an orange jumpsuit picking garbage up off of I-95, I salute. My hat is off to you sir. After all, no one would know how smart the rest of us are if we didn’t have half-wits like you to compare to.

  • Vick Must Go

My bias is based on facts. Pull up Vick’s passing numbers from the last 3 seasons, 2011, 12, 13 and get back to me. If Vick was anything near a competent QB, I would not say he sucks. So go… pull up his stats from the last three years and get back to me. I’ll wait. Or better yet, just pull up his stats from last year and compare them to Foles stats as a rookie. I’ll wait for that too.

Oh, or you could just realize that your sad pathetic life has all been a lie and all of your thoughts and opinions have no basis in fact and are instead all simply based on flashbacks from your days free-basing LSD in the back of a VW bus.

  • Vick Must Go

Nice response. Again, no objective facts, no stats, just opinions. I’ll wait for the stats to back up your opinion. Still waiting…

  • Vick Must Go

Waiting… stats please. Compare Vicks 2012 numbers to Foles 2012 numbers… or Vick 13 to Foles 13… Or just give us Vicks overall numbers to include record for the last 3 seasons. And… go.

Surely you are intelligent enough to search a database, or do a google search. You can pull these stats. The only reason you won’t is you know what they say. They will support that Vick is a terrible QB that is holding this team back with ever game he appears as the starting QB.

  • Vick Must Go

Still waiting. Is it coming, the bolus of stats that will support your position? I will be ever so disappointed if you don’t offer any kind of factual retort. I’ll start holding my breath…

  • mrparabolic

Yeah, I’m not going to read all that. I’m sure you just took your short paragraph of nonsense and turned it into a long paragraph of nonsense. Way to go.

  • HowboutdemIggles

Again it all comes down to straw man arguments, nobody has said he looks like Peyton Manning. Or that he was on the same level, that’s silly. However it was an accomplishment done only 6 times before.

  • Vick Must Go

What was Vick’s issue last year? What was Vick’s issue in 2011?

You won’t compare stats from the last 3 years because you know what they’ll say. That Vick sucks.

  • Vick Must Go

No answer? No answer for 2011, no answer for 2012? Okay, let me help you out with pulling the stats and I’ll give you the easy job of analysis (or excuse making).

    2013:
    Vick – 77/141, 54.6%comp, 1,215 yards, 8.6y/a, 5TD, 3Int, 15 sacks, 1 Fumble, 86 QB rating
    Foles – 74/11, 62.7%comp, 1028 yards, 8.7 y/a, 13TD, 0 Int, 7 sacks, 0 Fumbles, 127.4 QB rating

    EXPLAIN!

    2012:
    Vick – 58% comp, 2,362 yards, 6.7 y/a, 12 TD, 10 Int, 28 sacks, 78.1 QB rating, 7 Fumbles
    Foles (AS A ROOKIE!!!!!) – 61% comp, 1699 yards, 6.4 y/a, 6 TD, 5 Int, 20 sacks, 79.1 QB rating, 3 Fumbles

    EXPLAIN!!!

    2011:
    Vick – 59.8% comp, 3,303 yards, 7.8 y/a, 18TD, 14 Int, 23 sacks, 84.9 QB rating, 7 Fumbles

    EXPLAIN!!!!!!!!!!!

Instead of explaining, you can simply admit that Vick is a terrible washed-up QB that has no business still being in the NFL and who, under no circumstances, will ever be given a chance to start anywhere in the future EVER in the NFL.
