Web Original: Beautiful Baubles

Local jewelry company Typhaney B. makes great gifts — for yourself.

Returning from my Hawaiian honeymoon last week was hard. Really hard. Which is why I decided to treat myself to a little “welcome back to Philly” present. You know, to make the transition from sun-drenched poolside cabana to fluorescent-light-filled cubicle less traumatizing.

I headed straight to one of my fave local jewelry designers — the one with the awesomely spelled name, Typhaney B. — for a pretty pick-me-up. Choosing between her hammered gold hoops with fringe-y tassels, her super-delicate layered sterling necklace dotted with freshwater pearls, and her sculptural cuffs was difficult. (I fell for these hammered sterling silver danglers with clear and blue crystals, shown.) But of course I’d fall in love with everything: Typhaney is, after all, one of the crafty-chic gals who owns North 2nd Street’s Conspiracy Showroom, where you can scoop up her jewelry line, along with lots of other locally made goodness, including clothing, purses, wallets and some vintage treasures.

Which makes me not so sad to be back in Philly …
