As if Philadelphia’s young scholars needed another reason to celebrate, Campus Philly is throwing its free Kick-Off concert and festival this Saturday on the Ben Franklin Parkway. Lean back with Fat Joe and sound the alarm for Saves the Day as they headline the concert; other performers include Philly’s own The Capitol Years and Gabriele & Tangible Truth. And if you need a break from the party, fuel your intellectual side by visiting College Day on the Parkway: Free shuttles will run to 12 Philly’s cultural institutions offering free admission and tours. There’s more to this festival than music and museums: Campus Philly knows the one true weakness of college students — free stuff. IKEA will give away two complete sets of dorm furniture and accessories. 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.; campusphilly.org.
