What's your background, education and training?

Owner and Wedding Director, Susan Norcross, has worked extensively in the field of special events for over twenty years and has a proven expertise in the coordination and design of events across a wide spectrum. Susan spent eight years at the Philadelphia/New York City-based PR firm Cashman and Associates, where she worked her way up from Manager of Special Events, to Director of Special Events, to a Vice President position. During her tenure, Susan worked at a vigorous pace of approximately 75 events per year and coordinated a variety of events including galas, charity fundraisers, retail, restaurant and nightlife openings, product launches, fashion shows, gifting suites, press conferences, meetings, and concerts.

Susan left Cashman & Associates in 2011, and after a brief hiatus, she found herself immersed in the event industry once more. This time, Susan was planning a family member’s wedding, and since then, has never looked back. Susan founded her own company, Two Rings ~ One Circus, and it was a natural progression for her to merge together with The Styled Bride where, today, she oversees the planning for all wedding clientele. Working within the wedding industry has provided tremendous opportunities and growth as Susan has blended her years of carefully developed expertise together with her desire to develop and maintain relationships with couples, wedding professionals, and industry insiders alike. The Styled Bride’s position as a premier wedding planning and styling firm in Philadelphia, the surrounding regions and beyond is one of her greatest accomplishments.

What is your typical process for working with a new client?

Whether you just got engaged or are planning the final details before you walk down the aisle, think of us as your guide. The biggest misconception about planners is we plan your wedding for you. Instead, our primary focus is to meet you where you are and plan your wedding with you.

We make sure your opinion is always heard, introduce you to professionals we feel share your personality and aesthetic, and help you to manage all the details. We are always on your side to ensure you, your partner, your families and your guests enjoy a stress-free wedding day.

What advice would you give a client looking to find a provider in your specialty?

Be honest, tell us the good, the bad and the ugly, we can handle it. We want to know all about you, your fiancé and your family and friends to help craft the best day possible and tell your story.  If you don't feel you are being heard or feel uncomfortable sharing with the planner, then you haven't found the right once yet.

What inspired your passion for your profession?

My background is in design and helping to bringing together someone's vision has always sparked my enthusiasm for this industry. While I use to be involved with more corporate event planning, the emotional connection of a wedding is much more engaging and rewarding.

What services are you most excited to offer?

While we are happy to help in any capacity, getting to work with a couple from the beginning is always rewarding as we get to be part of the entire process.  Also we have a soft spot for home and/ or tented weddings as they are always a one of a kind.

What is the best reaction you’ve ever received from a client?

We've had a lot of happy tears and when a bride just bursts into tears from joy - we can't beat that.  We have also received some of the best written reviews on the knot. We've had brides offer to get divorced to do it all over again or if they didn't marry their now husbands I was their next choice. I recently had a former bride tell me every time her husband and her get something done - they say they Susan"ed" it, which really made my day! While we are happy to help in any capacity, getting to work with a couple from the beginning is always rewarding as we get to be part of the entire process.  Also we have a soft spot for home and/ or tented weddings as they are always a one of a kind.

How many years have you been in business?

The Styled Bride for 6 years, and I have been in special event planning for over 20 years.
