5 Square Philly is a boutique, two-person real estate team founded by lifelong friends, Benjamin Katz and Ben Johnson. Collectively known as “the Bens,” the partners specialize in two core areas: residential real estate sales and both off-market land and commercial mixed-use property sales. Their work is guided by a shared commitment to collaborating with like-minded stakeholders to create—or thoughtfully restore—design-driven, sustainable developments that enhance both neighborhoods and the broader urban landscape.

Katz's professional background as a pilot and navigator in the U.S. Air Force includes more than 3,000 flight hours operating the MQ-9 Reaper and RC-135 Cobra Ball. The experience has instilled a strong foundation of integrity, service, and excellence—principles that now guide his approach to running 5 Square Philly.

Katz is currently engaged in the sales and development of “Laurent Eight,” a thoughtfully conceived townhome project located at 1600 E. Berks Street in Fishtown. The project features a series of residences with garage parking and interiors inspired by Scandinavian design, reflecting a focus on both functionality and modern aesthetic.
