This is my business. I'd like to submit an update.

Since 1909, Milton Hershey School has helped children break the cycle of poverty by being a place where potential is met with life-changing opportunity.

Milton Hershey School thrives as a cost-free, private, coeducational home and school for more than 2,000 boys and girls from families of lower income across the U.S. Students receive an excellent education, nurturing home life, college and career readiness support, and comprehensive health and wellness care, including medical and dental care, food, and clothing.

What sets the school apart is its dedicated staff who have found their purpose in their united commitment to help students reach their potential and follow their dreams.

Employees have the unique opportunity to use their talents to make a positive difference in the lives of thousands of children each day through work that is both rewarding and fulfilling. They also receive generous benefits, competitive compensation, and the support to pursue professional growth and learning.

What is your teaching or educational philosophy?

At Milton Hershey School, students are given every opportunity to unlock their full potential. We recognize that every student’s path to greatness is different. This is especially true for low-income children with complicated life situations and stressors. For more than 110 years, MHS has provided top-notch education and whole child care resources to help children break the cycle of poverty.

We believe providing for their daily needs is essential for each student’s success. Clothing, food, comprehensive health care, housing, fitness, and hair care are part of our program and given to all students for free. Stellar academic programs are paired with a supportive and stable home environment. Classrooms have no walls, and students learn by doing, through programs that give them an early start on college and their careers.

High school students have access to internships, co-ops, and/or pre-apprenticeships, the ability to earn college credits, and the opportunity to accrue up to $95,000 in scholarship funding that can be used for college or career learning. No matter their desired next step, MHS students graduate ready for college, career/technical school, the military, or the workforce.

What is your mission statement?

In keeping with Milton and Catherine Hershey’s Deed of Trust, Milton Hershey School nurtures and educates children in social and financial need to live fulfilling and productive lives.
