Beyond the domestic United States, Dr. Oh has set up a mission clinic to provide free dental implants for the citizens of Central America. Until last September, no surgeons in Central America could place Zygomatic or Pterygoid implants. Dr. Oh trained the first round of surgeons in order to arm them with these advanced treatment protocols, and has set up a clinic equipped with 3D printing technology as well as milling technologies in order to make a meaningful difference in their community through dental implants.

To date, Dr. Oh is responsible for more than $1M in donated dental implant services in the USA and Guatemala, and has a goal of $20M in his career. This year, Dr. Oh received the Humanitarian Award from Marquis Who's Who in America for his philanthropic efforts.

What's your background, education and training?

Dr. Simon Oh grew up in Maryland where he received his Bachelors of Science at the University of Maryland - College Park in Physiology and Neurobiology. He then graduated with honors at the University of Maryland Dental School; where he achieved the highest national board scores in his class. He was a member of several honors societies; including the OKU honors society; and won many scholarships for academic and clinical achievement. Dr. Oh was also the lead guitar player of his band; InciDental.

After finishing his dental education; Dr. Oh furthered his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Here he received extensive inpatient and outpatient training in conditions ranging from impacted wisdom teeth and dental implants; to major facial reconstructive surgery. Dr. Oh is also a published author in the Journal of Maxillofacial Trauma.

Today; Dr. Oh serves as Chief Dental Officer of Capstone Dental Group and Dental Health Associates; overlooking all clinical operations of over 60 dentists and dental specialists. As a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists; Dr Oh has special interest in Bone Grafting and Full Mouth Implant Rehabilitation. Dr Oh lectures and trains doctors on implant surgery on a regular basis; including at the Zimmer Institute. He focuses on delivering quality care to his patients; in the most pain-free manner possible. Dr. Oh enjoys traveling; and spending time with his wife Sophie; son Cameron; and their two dogs.

What is your typical process for working with a new patient?

Every new patient that we see starts with a free consultation and imaging. From here; we sit down and get to know the patient as a person; as well as their dental history; and their goals in treatment. We then formulate personalized treatment plans that are predictable; meet the patients’ goals; and improves their quality of life.

What advice would you give a patient looking to find a provider in your specialty?

There are several qualified Implantologists out there. Some important questions to ask are how many implant surgeries they perform a year; what their success rates are; and what brand implants they use.

What treatments are you most excited to offer?

When I take patients who are in full dentures; or are soon to be in full dentures; and provide them with fixed permanent teeth; we get the opportunity to transform the way they chew; talk; and smile. This to me is the most exciting.

What is the best reaction you’ve ever received from a patient?

The patient I will never forget is the one who knitted a blanket for my one year old son during her treatment; and gave it to me as a "thank you gift" at the end.

What makes your practice stand apart?

We dont see a huge volume of patients like in some practices. AC Dental of Langhorne has a very personal feel to it; while still offering the newest and best treatment options.
