A New On-Demand Classical Musical Service, Living the Classical Life, Has Philly Connections

It’s a new streaming, free, on-demand program called Living the Classical Life, and it features world-class artists talking about their craft. What makes it quite interesting to us here at Ticket is that there are so many connections to Philadelphia in the series, and serves as a testament that the City of Brotherly Love is a mecca for classical musical fans.

The 19-episode (and growing) series features interviews, performances, and insight from classical musicians, managers, recording producers, festival organizers, and emerging artists from around the world. Below we highlight several episodes from Living the Classical Life that feature Philadelphia-related (and, in some cases, Philadelphia-based) talent.

Mezzo-soprano opera star Isabel Leonard will be coming to Philly next season to star in the East Coast premiere of Cold Mountain with Opera Philadelphia:

Future episodes will feature even more Philly talent: Nathan Gunn is part of Opera Philadelphia’s American Repertoire Council and will be highlighted, and Jerome Lowenthal, a Juilliard faculty member, was born and raised in Philadelphia.
