Chip Kelly met with the media this afternoon before the Eagles returned to practice. Here are three things that stood out. Read more »
The Eagles had six players they hoped would be there at the No. 22 pick. But when they finally were put on the clock, none of the six was available.
Two guys who could have been had at that spot were Johnny Manziel and USC WR Marqise Lee.
Chip Kelly has had nothing but good things to say about Manziel publicly, but it seems clear that the Eagles never really thought about taking him with the 22nd pick. Read more »

With the draft just 10 days away, Howie Roseman, Chip Kelly and the Eagles likely have their wide receiver wish list in order.
Personnel people and analysts have been saying for months now that this is potentially the deepest group of pass-catchers of all-time. With DeSean Jackson gone and Jeremy Maclin on a one-year deal, it seems likely that the Eagles will add a wide receiver or two come draft time.
Keeping that in mind, below is my guess at how the team has its top-10 receivers ranked. Most, if not all, of these players are expected to go in the first three rounds. I know many of you might be interested in some of the Day 3 prospects, and we’ll get to them in a later post.

Against Chip Kelly’s Oregon squad in 2012, USC wide receiver Marqise Lee caught 12 balls for 157 yards and two touchdowns in a 62-51 loss.
He lined up all over the place in that game – outside, in the slot and in the backfield. He drew a pair of penalties in the end zone and gave the Trojans excellent field position on multiple occasions with tremendous kickoff returns.
“He may be the best receiver I’ve had the opportunity to coach against,” Kelly said at the time, per USC’s Web site. “He’s impressive on film, but even more impressive when you watch him in person.” Read more »
The Eagles are set to bring in USC wide receiver Marqise Lee for a visit, according to Ross Jones of Fox Sports. This will be the third meeting between the Eagles and Lee, per the report.
As we discussed this morning, Kelly leaned towards players he faced — and was beaten by — on the collegiate level in his first-ever NFL draft last year. Lee (6-0, 192) had 12 catches for 157 yards and two touchdown against Oregon in 2012 (The Ducks beat USC 62-51 that day). In 2011, he helped the Trojans topple Oregon with an eight-catch, 187-yard performance.
