There are approximately 60 awesome things about Barcade, the new beer-and-classic-arcade-games nerd-vana that opened in October on Frankford Avenue: 25 taps of carefully chosen American craft brews, plus 35 cabinet-style video games rescued straight out of the collective unconscious of every 30-something who was once a 12-year-old with a pocketful of quarters and an afternoon to kill. But judging by the crowds that are already showing up, a couple pints of O’Reilly’s Irish on nitro and an hour hogging the stick on Burgertime is enough for most people.
