The Brides Against Breast Cancer Gown Sale Is Coming to Philly the First Weekend in January

Back in October, we professed our love for Brides Against Breast Cancer, which is an organization that raises money for various programs that help breast cancer patients and their families, by partnering with them for their Headliners for Hope event at Water Works here in Philly. (Yours truly was a bartender, and I slung many a nicely shaken pink cocktail, if I do say so myself.)

They do events like those to raise money, but a huge portion of what they raise comes from these widely attended wedding gown sales that pop up in cities all across the county. The gowns they sell are donated by designers, manufacturers, bridal salons and individual brides themselves, and then sold at amazeball prices to raise money for the wellness and educational programs they fund.

And next weekend, January 3rd and 4th, they’re going to be here in Philly!

On Friday, January 3rd from 6 to 9m, they have the VIP “Unveiling of the Gowns” Reception, which is $40 (tax deductible) and admits you and a guest. This means you get to shop for your dress before the general admission tickets come in the next day.

On Saturday, January 4th from 10 to 4pm, they have the general admission gown sale, which is $7 (also tax deductible; $10 if you buy at the door).

The gown sizes range from 4 to 18, the prices from $99 to $3,900, and in addition to potentially finding your dress, there will be two raffle prizes given out that day—one, a gift certificate for two wedding bands from JVL Jewelry, and the other, a travel package from VIP Vacations. Oh, and it all takes place at the Clarion Hotel Conference Center at 76 Industrial Highway in Essington.

Register here for the event, whichever part of it you wish to attend, and to get more info—or hey, you can even volunteer to work at the sale! It’s an awesome sale and an awesome cause. And you kind of can’t beat that.

Happy shopping.
