The public was invited to a reception and first view of the Locks Gallery rooftop sculpture garden on September 9th. The newly designed space overlooks Washington Square and features sculptures by Anthony Caro, George Segal and Isaac Witkin.

On Sunday , September 25, 2005, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia was host to a Gala Season-Opening Reception, the first of its kind in their 41 year history. The Afternoon began with an all-Beethoven concert performed by The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia in Perelman Theater at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Afterwards, the event Benefactors attended a a cocktail and hors d' oevres reception in Cadence Restaurant on the third floor of the Kimmel Center to meet Maestro Solzhenitsyn, the afternoon's featured artists, the Eroica Trio and the Chamber Orchestra muscians.

On September 8th Saks Fifth Avenue and Project H.O.M.E held this wild event, which featured poker, roulette, blackjack and a fashion show. Great food, drinks and outrageous prizes set the stage for this unforgettable evening. Proceeds from the event benefited Project H.O.M.E and its Honickman Learning Center and Comcast Technology Labs.

On August 10th, Daily News columnist Stu Bykofsky hosted his annual Candidates ComedyNight to raise money for Variety-The Children's Charity. It's a show in which candidates like Philadelphia District Attorney, Democrat Lynne Abraham takes the stage and tries to be funny on purpose. The show started during the 1991 mayoral campaign in Philadelphia and has grown since then into a "must do" event for candidates. Variety is a non-profit oranization run by volunteers that offers services and programs that improve the quality of life for cildren with disabilities. Some of those include, educational and therapeuticand recreational programs. Variety also offers many other opportunities such as afterschool programs, dance and The Golf-BuddyProgram.
