Thieves Have Stolen $12,000 in Underwear from Pennsylvania Mall

Somebody's been absconding with skivvies in Wilkes-Barre. And they keep coming back for more.

Is Wilkes-Barre the Pennsylvania capital of lingerie larceny? Purloined panties? Burgled bras? Thong thievery?

Maybe. What we know is this: A Victoria’s Secret shop in the northeast Pennsylvania city has repeatedly been the site of big major underwear thefts in recent months — and it just happened again.

Here’s what the public found out on Friday:

“By our count, this makes roughly $12,000 in women’s undergarments ripped off from that same store in a series of thefts that goes back more than six months,” reports WNEP. “Surveillance video shows bra bandits and panty pilferers in action just a few weeks ago. Thieves hit the store near Wilkes-Barre at least five times in the past six months.”

Here’s the surveillance video from April:

Clearly, the only way this crime wave will cease is with the aid of a vigilant public. And the public has been very, very vigilant. “Wilkes-Barre Township police say hundreds of thousands of people have viewed the Victoria’s Secret surveillance video on their Facebook page and in the news,” WNEP says. “Tips have flooded in with bras and panties showing up on Craigslist and eBay, but still nothing has been traceable.”

We’ll let you know if there’s, ahem, a bust.
