Phillies Fans Boo Video of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett

Yeah, Mayor Nutter was booed as well.

Last night, the Phillies honored Jimmy Rollins for passing Mike Schmidt to become the team’s all-time hits leader. The team gave Rollins and his wife matching Gucci luggage and an all-expenses-paid trip to Italy. (No, not to play baseball there.) They also showed congratulatory messages from Nick Foles, Bernie Parent, Rickey Henderson (who talked a bit about himself), Derek Jeter (which reminded me it’s really a shame how infrequently the Phillies play the Yankees), Jill Biden, and Mayor Michael Nutter.

Also, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett, who was booed by the fans. There wasn't even a reason to boo, as it was a recorded message. He wasn't there to hear the boos!

The boos appeared to die down after the crowd got bored, at least through the TV. Biden wasn't booed. But in the storied tradition of Philadelphians booing their own mayor, Nutter received a couple of boos.

In the most recent Franklin & Marshall poll, only 23% of registered voters said Corbett deserved re-election. Nutter is in his second term.

Seriously, Dan? “The team gave he and his wife matching Gucci luggage.

Of course. Corbett is doing a good job and not raising their taxes. Philadelphia democrats hate keeping their own money! They want their city to be the next Detroit apparently.

    Corbett 2014.

You and all five of Corbett’s other supporters can vote for him, then.

      • Dan

And you can vote for another crooked PA democrat for office. They are destroying Philly, why vote them into the Governor’s mansion?

At least our guy didn’t let a serial sex offender loose to prey on more children.

I would vote Micky Mouse into the governor’s mansion at this point. At least Micky has a personality!

he raised my taxes a lot. i pay more at the pump because of the tax he put there. i pay more property tax, because corbert gives tax breaks to companys & we are the only state that doesnt charge oil companys any extracting tax.but make no mistake about it. i pay a lot more taxes, because of the crook corbert.

Republicans always throw bogus statements out there in hopes that something will stick. Well everyone is on to their BS and their non performing candidates. There is nothing significant that was written and passed by the Cobet administration. No reason for him to deserve a second chance.

Consecutive balanced budgets on time every year in office

$630 million raised through an impact fee Corbett signed into law for the environment

Highest percentage of state spending on education in state history

–There hope you got the reasons I support him.

What did Ed Rendell do? Raise taxes and lie to the people about putting dirty casinos in our state? No thanks. Wolf is Rendell’s 3rd term.

he’s it state education funding. continually held philadelphia ransom, ESP the school district and Septa. Both of which are two of the most underfunded programs in the country. (Septa the largest transportation system not supported by the state….unless they beg) I’m sorry but Philadelphia residents fill the largest portion of the state’s wallet yet we receive the least proportionate Slice. PS a governor is REQUIRED to balance the budget in PA. Bye bye Corbett!!

      • Dan

That’s because we have a high state corporate income tax.

Corbett signed a $630 million impact fee on the oil companies for local communities.

Hmmm…Corbet got boo’ed by fans at a home game…now there’s a shocker. Cutting spending and balancing budgets does NOT make one popular, in any vocation. Just ask Fast Eddie (Ed Rendell) or any parent who had to freeze their kid’s allowance and/or suspend the xBox Live subscription in recent years.

As for Nutter…there’s not really anything to boo or cheer. He doesn’t do a whole lot that’s impactful.

What do you expect from Philly fans? No Class! I remember them booing Mike Schmidt and throwing beer cans at their own players!
