The governor and his wife made fifteen percent less money this year than last. No, Christie didn’t personally try to reimburse the state for that October special election; his wife’s salary changed. Here’s what we know, now that the first couple has released its tax returns.
Chris and Mary Pat Christie took in $478,977 in 2013. Mary Pat was the breadwinner, earning $263,277 from the two finance jobs she worked in ’12; Christie reported $161,811 and says another $13,000 or so is stored away in a 401k. Christie’s opponent Barbara Buono has not released her returns, despite assurances she would do so. [Star-Ledger]
