Update on Team Desiree
When we updated you about Desiree Hines recently, the news was stunning to many of her friends in Philadelphia. Hines was one of our “New Who’s Who” when she was living here as an openly transgender organist – one of the only in the country – who’s now in the fight of her life against an aggressive form of neuro-endocrine cancer.
The classically trained musician – who’s now studying in Kansas City – is raising money to help pay for her treatment as she travels to Louisiana to meet with experts in the field. “I will be making some videos while I am down in New Orleans at the specialist,” says Hines. She’ll be posting the updates on her YouTube page.
