Agent: Eagles To Release Mat McBriar

The Eagles will release punter Mat McBriar, according to his agent, Jack Bechta.  Delivering the news on his Twitter account, Bechta adds that the move will most likely come Thursday.

It looks the job is Chas Henry‘s for now.

Many thought McBriar, though coming off a foot injury and not all the way healthy, would win the job because of his experience. He also had the edge in net yards and average over Henry this preseason. The Eagles, though, apparently decided to give the nod to the second-year punter out of Florida.
