The Pope Francis Plush Toy is Here

Plus a bunch of other goodies.

Sure to be a hot gift this Christmas.

What’s a gathering of 1.5 million people if you can’t sell a little bit of merch?

The World Meeting of Families has just announced that Philadelphia-based Aramark will serve as the official retail vendor of event merchandise — including a lovable Pope Francis plush doll which has a strong resemblance to the real thing. It’ll cost you $20.

Another fav is the commemorative plate with a smiling Pope Francis opening his arms and allowing a dove to land on his hand. It’s the kind of thing my grandmother would display proudly over the mantle in her dining room.

With more than 200 products to choose from, event goers can get T-shirts, scarves, keychains and coffee mugs — many featuring His Holiness. In late June, the products will be available at shop.worldmeeting2015.org. Prices range from $5 to $500.

Aramark President and CEO Eric Foss called the World Meeting of Families “a once-in-a-lifetime event here in our hometown” and said the company looks forward to “creating a special retail experience that helps the millions of faithful in attendance, and all around the world, commemorate Pope Francis’ visit to Philadelphia.”

The World Meeting of Families will be held September 22-27.
