Eagles Cut Tracker
Update: Click here for Saturday’s cuts.
From earlier: We’ll keep this post updated throughout Friday with Eagles cuts. The team has to get the roster down to 53 by 4 p.m. Saturday.
Updated (9:37 p.m. Friday): According to the Inquirer’s Jeff McLane, Travis Long tore the ACL in his left knee during Thursday night’s preseason finale and is out for the season.
Per Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com, the team will keep Casey Matthews as a result of Long’s injury. Emmanuel Acho, however, has been released.
Updated (7:49 p.m. Friday): The Eagles have decided to keep Cody Parkey, according to Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com.
The Eagles saw enough out of rookie kicker Cody Parkey to give him a spot on the 53-man roster, two individuals with knowledge of the situation told NJ.com
They requested anonymity because the move was not yet official…
Parkey winning the job means the end is near for kicker Alex Henery, who was a fourth-round draft pick back in 2011.
Updated (7:37 Friday) — Dennis Kelly and Bryan Braman did not receive any bad news as of late this afternoon. Both camps feel confident that their players will make the team.
Updated (4:23 Friday):
The Eagles reportedly worked out former Bills and Browns QB Thad Lewis. More details here.
Updated (3:53 Friday):
It sounds like RB Chris Polk is safe:
Hearing the same as @LesBowen: Early indications are that TE Trey Burton will make the 53. The same can be said of RB Chris Polk.

In our first surprise (at least from my perspective), the Eagles are apparently holding on to tight end Trey Burton:
Tight end Trey Burton is on the Eagles’ 53, I’m told. Good for him. Minor surprise…

And they’re looking to trade Damaris Johnson:

Updated (3:11 Friday):
The Eagles are apparently placing WR Arrelious Benn on IR. Benn tore his ACL last summer and suffered a concussion a couple weeks ago. But he played in Thursday night’s game against the Jets, scored a touchdown and said afterwards that he was healthy.

The roster is now at 71 players. Updated (2:23 Friday): It looks like fan favorite Henry Josey is going to be released.

Updated (1:15 Friday):
The Eagles have told GJ Kinne he’ll be released. He played well, just no spot for him.

The Philadelphia Eagles just released Josh Andrews, C/G from #OregonState. This guy isn’t going to be unemployed for long.

That puts the roster at 73 players – 20 more to go.
