The Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education is a regional and national leader pioneering urban environmental education with innovative programs, the country’s most ambitious environmental art program, Philadelphia’s only licensed wildlife clinic, Pennsylvania’s first Nature Preschool, and a commitment to stewarding our land. Founded in 1965, the Schuylkill Center is one of the first urban environmental education centers in the country, with 365 acres of fields, forests, ponds, and streams in northwest Philadelphia. Our goal is to inspire meaningful connections with nature through engagement and accessiblity.

What is your typical process for working with a new client?

As soon as you contact us, the rental manager will answer questions and work to schedule a site visit. We are a small company, so you will be working with the same person from start to finish when it comes to planning your event and engaging with our space.

What services are you most excited to offer?

We are most excited to show off our land as a secret gem of Philadelphia - we've been tucked away in Roxborough for 60 years and want to share our beautiful backdrops and untouched land with everybody. We are excited to share that, in using our space, all of your dollars will support our cause and allow us to offer more free and accessible programming for all. We look forward to expanding our community through hosting weddings and events.

What makes your business stand apart?

We are a non-profit with a strong and supportive community. Our land isn't manicured, it is a natural celebration of Pennsylvania and its native flora and fauna. Anybody who gets married here becomes a member of our community and our legacy.
