Students engage in a hands-on, multi-sensory curriculum tailored to their individual strengths, allowing them to explore, question, and master concepts at their own pace. What is your teaching or educational philosophy?

The Montessori philosophy is the foundation of everything we do at The Montessori School. Our mission is to honor each child’s unique path of learning and help them grow into confident, compassionate, and capable individuals. Through a rich, sequential curriculum and the thoughtful guidance of Montessori-trained educators, students are supported as they explore, question, and master concepts at their own pace using hands-on materials that make abstract ideas tangible.

Classrooms are intentionally designed to promote independence, focus, and curiosity. Multi-age groupings allow children to learn collaboratively—young students observe and learn from older peers, while older students gain confidence through leadership and mentorship. Whether guiding a friend through a reading lesson or engaging in a long-term project, students build academic strength alongside social and emotional growth. This individualized, experiential approach allows children to develop deep understanding through active discovery rather than passive instruction.

Learning through movement is an essential part of each day. Students independently take initiative, make thoughtful decisions, and care for their environment and one another. This approach nurtures resilience, concentration, empathy, and a deep love of learning, thus preparing lifelong learners who demonstrate leadership in the classroom and beyond.

What is your mission statement?

The Montessori School educates children using the authentic Montessori approach, emphasizing self-confidence and respect for self and others. TMS encourages students to grow as self-motivated, engaged learners, leaders of the future, stewards of the earth, and ambassadors of peace.
