About

At Agnes Irwin, we know girls. Founded in 1869 by Miss Agnes Irwin, the first Dean of Radcliffe College and great-great granddaughter of Benjamin Franklin, The Agnes Irwin School is nationally recognized as an all-girls, independent college preparatory school for PreK-grade 12, located in the western suburbs of Philadelphia.

We provide not only a rigorous academic experience for our students, but also competitive athletic teams, and robust STEM and visual and performing arts curriculum that allow girls to explore their creativity, think critically, and become empowered leaders.

Our research-based curriculum–developed through our proprietary Center for the Advancement of Girls–blends today’s current educational thinking and practices with the traditional values of a liberal arts education, creating an environment where girls can expand, take chances, discover passions, and become active participants in their own communities.

Visit Agnes Irwin and experience how our girl-centered, research-based education fosters the journey of self-discovery, and empowers girls to learn, to lead, and to live a legacy.
