Marc Vetri has moved many of his classic dishes into a permanent “hall of fame” category, leaving room on the menu for new chef Brad Spence to make his mark on the miniature kitchen. Spence’s sensibilities are not, of course, far from Vetri’s, and you can still expect elegant pastas and deeply flavored meats as well as an unexpectedly affordable, mostly Italian wine list.

Puts food in perspective

There is a part of me that wishes I never visited Vetri. Not for any other reason, as I would have to lie to find one, but for shaming every other dining experience with its unparalleled excellence. Having visited most upscale restaurants in center city, I can say that I have never been so blown away by food, so incapable to speak, so dumbfounded by something familiar like pasta, taken to a degree of flavor I can't describe. The service lived up to the dishes seemingly effortlessly, though I'm sure a great deal of training went into it. The atmosphere and decor was spot on. Every single element of the experience was well thought out and perfectly executed. I will be hard-pressed to find anything resembling this level of dining.

It was so wrong!

Review
For our anniversary I called 2 months ahead, and then a month ahead and again 2 hours before we arrived. From the start, they said they would give us a great table they save for special occasions. When we arrived they said they HAD to give the table to a "regular". Strike 1. So I tried to remain calm. But then the waiter all but ignored us because we didn't choose dinner fast enough for him. Strike 2. I had to finally get up and (firmly ask) for another waiter who seemed interested in serving us. Strike 3. The food was great but I wouldn't go back if you paid me. It's a shame.

Vetri

Review
Vetri is arguably one of the best restaurants in the country. The food and atmosphere are fabulous. We make it a habit to go there every time we visit Philadelphia.

Disappointed

Review
We waited a month for a special occasion and picked Vetri, needless to say it was not that good. The portions were small and overpriced. The service was adequate at best. I heard so much about this place and I was really surprised with the limited menu and the lousy beer selection.
