You know the type — it's somewhere between New York's floppy, foldable slices and Chicago's get-lost-in-it deep-dish. Rustica's crisp crust is sturdy enough to support chicken mole, cilantro and crawfish, pico de gallo and avocado — or just an even layer of heat-blistered mozzarella.

Really loved PhillyMag's "Best Of" suggestion for best sandwich (Paesano's), thought I'd try out their non-gourmet pizza suggestion next. Is it the water in Philly? Do the people here just not know how to make a simple, delicious pizza pie? Or do they not even know what good pizza tastes like? Is it that I've been spoiled on NYC and NJ pizza my whole life? This pizza was as big a disappointment as it could've been. The crust was too doughy and not tasty enough to make up for that, obnoxiously sweet sauce, breaded eggplant was too bulky for the pie, and the garlic was all unevenly cooked.
