Soaring, panoramic views combine with a moody dining room and high-class comfort food at this Liberty Place destination. The menu is stacked with variations on home-y classics that we loved at chef/owner Dan Stern’s former Rae (and some of Gayle): rabbit nachos, lobster hot dogs, venison cheesesteaks, as well as new options for indulgence from a lobster and braised short rib surf and turf to a veal and meatloaf stew.

I didn't know what to expect when dining at R2L but our friends are regulars and said we would not be disappointed. We surely were not. Our server, Kim, was very helpful with suggestions and guiding us through the menu. The room was lovely; a nice combination of modern and elegant. The view is rare - you feel like you are on top of the world! The meal was amongst the best I have had in a long time. We shared a bunch of "snacks" (LOVE that truffle flat bread) and the guys ordered signature dishes and the ladies off the "simply prepared" menu. We splurged with dessert! Overall, it was a superior dining experience and I am very much looking forward to becoming a regular myself.

R2L is an exciting restaurant for Philadelphia. My wife and I went for drinks because we heard of the restaurant's beauty and impeccable cocktails. Impressed by the gorgeous bar and lounge, we stayed for dinner and were blown away by the inventive, creative food and delightful, professional staff. The spectacular views from 37 floors above are icing on the cake.

This restaurant was such a treat. The inventive, delicious food combined with the amazing views... We went for a drink because I heard the space was beautiful, but we ended up staying for dinner because it was just such a lovely place to sit - and wow, were we blown away by the food. We had the spinach salad with duck confit, the crab cakes, the short ribs, and the skate, and each was more exciting than the last. And the service was great, as well. We will definitely be back - soon, I hope!
