Profile

From the wall niches packed with preserved Meyer lemons, to the house-cured meats that seem to be a city-mandated requirement for opening a restaurant in 2010, this pan-Mediterranean spot is in lockstep with the small-plate, local-farmer zeitgeist. One of the most winning things about the rustic cooking here is the superior treatment vegetables get. Not to knock the house-cured lomo, but how refreshing to be in a place where the daily vegetable board isn’t merely an also-ran to the charcuterie platter. For the best of both worlds, though, order the uovo pizza, which marries brussels sprout leaves and guanciale beneath a Rorschach splotch of orange egg yolk — its runny richness amplifying an exultant fior di latte (stretched on the premises).

I called to make a reservation for an impromptu Monday evening get together. They don't take reservations for more than 6 people (we had 6). I asked if we could put 2 tables together, if we could sit at the bar, something. They strongly recommended that we "make a reservation somewhere else", which I promptly did. Even if you can't guarantee a reservation don't you want to do everything you can to get people to come to your restaurant??? They could have been nicer about it. I called 4 other places that day, all very welcoming, all very accomdodating.

Super cold, super small restaurant with lotsa tables crammed in it. Food was ok. No Mediterranean feel here. Noisy, high energy, uncomfortable; Nothing like what you'd find in the Mediterranean. Desert was good though.

They have done it again! Had dinner three times since their opening and it does not disappoint! Egg pizza and lardo pizza to die for! Pastas have already changed. All are amazing. One diner was vegetarian and had so many options could not decide! Go now before you cannot get in!
