Profile

Occupying a vibrant industrial dining room around the corner from his eponymous original, Amis makes Marc Vetri more accessible. Inspired by the neighborhood trattorias of Rome, Amis offers a large menu of hearty small plates—just made noodles tossed with clams or pork; fried artichokes; house-cured meats—that can be combined to create the festivale of your dreams. A beautiful and cozy dining room, a wine list filled with gems and tapped craft beers add to the experience.

We recently returned to Amis for our second time. Our meal was poorly executed. Not only did our server forget an entire course, our food came out cold and the server was challenged to get it right. This place will not make it unless there is a significant change in the food quality.

The lamb was as dry as a left over from the Easter dinner put back in the oven. The hen was swimming in fat. The meat undercooked. The only decent dish was the trippa. Marc Vetri has really disappointed us this time!

Went w. a group of friends for my birthday dinner. We enjoyed everything, especially, the gnocchi, the steak, the artichokes, and the ricotta cheese/black pepper on toast. I had the guinea hen and loved it. I'd absolutely go back.

I am now positive I will never return to a Marc Vetri restaurant again. Don't serve me lamb skin with the fat pouring off of it and expect me to accept that as an entre. If you're going out to a special dinner and are going to spend money for a fantastic dining experience, skip Vetri and just go to one of Garces restaurants and not be served a huge amount of disappointment.

I've never been disappointed by a meal served at Marc Vetri's restaurants and the same holds true for Amis. My husband and I went just after it opened and everything was fabulous...wine, food, dessert! Be sure to save room for the waffle dessert...it is positively one of the best things I ever ate.
