Drinking

It's Finally Here: One day, Philadelphia will have a real tiki bar. Until then, people will continue to have tiki pop-ups, as Stephen Starr recently did at the Art Museum, and as bartender extraordinaire Katie Loeb (buy her new cocktail book here) is doing this Thursday at Walnut Street's Rum Bar. All drinks will be $10, and I'm assuming there will be concoctions that flame and plenty of drink umbrellas to go around. Details

Coming Soon: Vault Brewing Company
Even the French Like Beer: Drinking en Francais at Dock Street
Happy Hours We Like: Alla Spina teams up with Uber

Movie Openings

The Imposter: Since the sequel to The Expendables is the biggest movie opening this weekend, I thought I'd tell you about this indie film opening at the Ritz Bourse. In the documentary-style movie based on a true story, a 13-year-old boy goes missing only to turn up three years later, thousands of miles away. Or at least, it looks like him.  Details

Stallone Meets Schwarzenegger. Again.: The aforementioned Expendables 2
If You Enjoyed 2 Days in Paris: You might like Chris Rock and Julie Delpy in 2 Days In New York
If You Must See A Rom-Com: Celeste & Jesse Forever might do the trick
Spaced Out: How long has it been since you've seen The Right Stuff?
From the French New Wave: Shoot the Piano Player, based on a book written by David Goodis in Philadelphia

Concerts

Hey Everybody, It's Questlove: The drummer just returned from a tour of Europe, which took him to Belgium and Amsterdam with his little-band-you-might-have-heard-of, The Roots. And this Friday, he commandeers the turntables at Morgan's Pier. Be there. Details

Time to Get Muddy: The 51st annual Folk Festival
Totally-Last-Minute: You could go so see Jane's Addiction tonight
Pride of American Idol: Kelly Clarkson with the Fray
Guessing It's Not His Given Name: Philly-native Musiq Soulchild
A Great Live Show: My Morning Jacket and Band of Horses

STAGE

Cymbeline: If I asked you to name 10 Shakespeare plays, chances are, you would not pick out this one. It's one of Shakespeare's final works, which the Bard wrote in his late 40s (he died at 52!). A romance, but there's also a headless corpse involved. See Cymbeline at Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre this weekend. Details

And For Some Gay Shakespeare: We turn to Mauckingbird
Still Going: Go see Mr. Hart & Mr. Brown at People's Light
On Sale Now: The Live Arts/Philly Fringe Festival

SPONSORED MESSAGE: Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends at The Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa. 10 Winners, 10 Weeks, $100K in Prizes.
