Sweet-voiced Philly singer-songwriter Jeanette Lynne opens a show at Bourbon and Branch, followed by sets from locals Mackenzie Johnson and Drew Sestito, plus Jonny Caroll from Michigan.

India.Arie @ Dell Music Center | Thursday, July 28
India.Arie headlines an Essence of Entertainment concert at Dell Music Center, featuring Will Downing, Kenny Lattimore and Carol Riddick.

Digable Planets @ Ardmore Music Hall | Friday, July 29
Mary Ann “Ladybug Mecca” Vieira, Craig “Doodlebug” Irving and Ishmael “Butterfly” Butler of Grammy-winning Digable Planets bring their cool like dat hip-hop-and-jazz fusion to Ardmore Music Hall. A Friday show was added after the Thursday performance sold out.

Stephane Wrembel @ Venetian Social Club | Saturday, July 30
Guitarist Stephane Wrembel, who’s played everywhere from Lincoln Center to the Academy Awards, brings his Gypsy Jazz-infused sound to the Venetian Social Club in Chestnut Hill, with Thor Robert Jensen, also on guitar, Kells Nollenberger on bass and Nick Anderson playing the drums.

Garbage @ The Fillmore | Saturday, July 30
On-again/off-again alt rock band Garbage is touring in support of a new album, Strange Little Birds. I think all of their songs sound a little bit alike, but that might just be because Shirley Manson’s voice is distinctive.

Heart, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts and Cheap Trick @ BB&T Pavilion | Sunday, July 31
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers visit Camden on their Rock Hall Three for All Tour.
