Jodorowsky’s Dune @ CineMug | June 23-24
Coffee shop/video store CineMug is screening Jodorowsky’s Dune, a doc about cult director Alejandro Jodorowsy attempting (and failing) to make a movie out of the classic sci-fi novel. The scheduled Thursday showing sparked so much interested Cinemug added one on Friday. Both are BYOB.

Benny Golson @ Parkway Central Library | Thursday, June 23
Saxophonist Benny Golson learned jazz with John Coltrane when he was still in high school in North Philly, then went on to perform with Sonny Rollins, Dizzy Gillespie and pretty much every other jazz great. He’ll be at the Free Library discussing his autobiography, Whisper Not, with WRTI host Jeff Duperon.

Tinder Show @ Plays and Players Theatre | Friday, June 24
Eddie Finn and Max Barth of Good Good Comedy delve into the thorny depths of online dating, with help from local comedians Ryan Shaner, Elise Thomson-Hohl and Christian Mangual.

80s Kids Throwback Movie Night @ The Schmidt’s Commons | Saturday, June 25
Hearken back to the most haunting moments of the 1980s with a triple feature in the space formerly known as The Piazza. Watch Artax sink into the swamp in The NeverEnding Story, learn about evil during The Dark Crystal, and cower before David Bowie in Labyrinth.

Night of the Living Dead @ Laurel Hill Cemetery | Saturday, June 25

Wall Writers @ International House | Saturday, June 25
Director Roger Gastman will be on hand for a screening of his documentary about the beginnings of the graffiti movement in Philly and New York in the ’60s and ’70s. Street artists highlighted in the film, including Cornbread, Cool Earl, Kool Klepto Kidd and Lewis, will also be there.
