Back to the Future Cast to Appear at Wizard World in Philly
Roads? Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.
That’s because the Pennsylvania Convention Center is built adjacent to a train station. So you literally won’t need roads if you want to go see the cast of Back to the Future at this year’s Wizard World comic-con in Philadelphia. Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd and Lea Thompson will all be appearing, signing autographs and posing for photo ops on Saturday, June 5th, of this year. (A press release notes “that Michael J. Fox cannot sign any Nike products.” So don’t bring your Nike Mags.)
Lloyd will be appearing from the 3rd to the 5th, and Thompson will also appear on the 5th. Fox will just be there on the 4th. “Michael J. Fox is among the most requested celebrities by our fans, and we couldn’t be more excited that he will make his Wizard World debut at one of our flagship shows, Philadelphia,” Wizard World CEO John Macaluso said in a release. “His career in film and television has made him a household name and speaks for itself, and his work to benefit Parkinson’s research and to support families battling the disease shows even more the kind of person he is.”
In addition to the trio from Back to the Future, David Duchovny will be appearing at Philly’s comic-con as well. Buyers of the $300 VIP package will get various perks plus a photo op, an autograph and guaranteed seating at the panel.
Meanwhile, a bunch of actors from Marvel films — most notably Captain America himself, Chris Evans — will also be appearing at the convention. In addition to Evans, Anthony Mackie, Hayley Atwell, Dominic Cooper, Stanley Tucci and Frank Grillo will also be appearing. They, too, have expensive VIP packages that include photo ops and autographs. Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor in the Marvel series of films, is also appearing at Wizard World in Philly.
In addition to those celebs, Arrow’s Stephen Amell, The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus, The Lord of the Rings’s Billy Boyd, WWE professional wrestler Sheamus, William B. Davis (The Cigarette-Smoking Man) and Mitch Pileggi of The X Files, Jason David Frank (The Green Ranger) and others will be appearing. A wide variety of comic artists and writers will also be in attendance. In addition, the cars from Knight Rider, Back to the Future, The Green Hornet, The Dukes of Hazzard, Jurassic Park and the Adam West Batman TV show will be at the con.
Wizard World takes place in Philadelphia from June 2nd to the 5th. Tickets and VIP packages are available online now.
