Tonight: Kat Dahlia @ Underground Arts

The Miami rapper/singer says the f-word so sweetly.

Miami rapper/singer Kat Dahlia is double-threat, able to spit rhymes and belt out soulful pop-hooks — sometimes at the same time. “Gangsta,” her 2013 breakout single, proved she was a formidable songwriter, too. A mournful but catchy takedown of tough-guy pride, the song has got 23 million views and counting. She’s got a soft side, too: “I think I’m In Love Again,” is a sweeping, head-over-heels love song with a chorus made to be belted out in the shower. It’s also the sweetest use of “fuck you” in music maybe ever:

In case you didn’t catch that:

In my dreams you’re the dutch and I’m the duchess
And your blunts are always loose, so I’m in charge of rollin’ dutches
And we getting so high, we always get the munchies
And we go for early brunches that turn into late lunches
And we ain’t gotta label, we’re just rollin’ with the punches
I make fun of your belly and tell you do some crunches
And you say “yeah, well your ass jiggles, go and do some lunges”
I say “fuck you” while I’m thinking of you as my husband

I just love the little lilt on the last phrase.

Kat Dahlia plays Underground Arts tonight, February 16, at 7 p.m.
