Reports: Beyonce and Jay-Z Provided Fiscal Support for Black Lives Matter

Multiple news outlets are reporting that Beyonce and Jay Z used their own money to anonymously support Black Lives Matter protestors in both Ferguson and Baltimore by “writing a huge check” for “infrastructure money” and writing “ tens of thousands of dollars” to bail out jailed protestors.

The news was broke by writer and advocate Dream Hampton who, through a series of Tweets, claimed that Beyonce and Jay Z provided funds for the movement, but quickly removed the Tweets since the mega couple wished to remain anonymous about their contributions (before she disclosed the information about the Carters’ donations, Hampton tweeted, “I’m going to tweet this and I don’t care if Jay gets mad”):

After she deleted the Tweets, Hampton, who co-penned Jay Z’s memoir, clarified matters on Twitter:
