John Legend, who cut his teeth singing with Penn a cappella group Counterparts, is set to produce Sing It On, a new a cappella-focused series on Pop.

Shot documentary-style and inspired by Pitch Perfect, the show will follow five college a cappella teams as they compete against one another at the International Championship of Collegiate A Capella finals at Carnegie Hall.

So far no details have been released about which a cappella groups will be featured, but here’s hoping we have some local songbirds in the mix.

Pop hasn’t announced a release date, either, but Deadline hints that this is one of a handful of projects Legend’s production company, Get Lifted Film Company, will be producing with the network.
