Alas, if you’ve come to love the insanely popular television series Downton Abbey, you’ll be heartbroken by the news that after season six, it’s all over.

The producers of the show announced today that they are cutting the cord while “the show was still being enjoyed so much by its fans,” according to a statement executive producer Gareth Neame made. He continued by saying, “Millions of people around the world have followed the journey of the Crawley family and those who serve them for the last five years. Inevitably there comes a time when all shows should end and Downton is no exception.”

Not to get your hopes up, but there is a slight possibility for a future movie, although details are extremely fuzzy. According to The Guardian, during a conference call Neame said a film version “is definitely something we are contemplating. It is wrong to say there are any [definite] plans for a film. It is something we are contemplating and interested in doing. There is nothing firmly in place, no [actors] have been contracted to do it.”
