This Tuesday, during the semifinal eliminations on The Voice, the bottom three contestants were huddled into a line, waiting to hear if fans had voted to keep them around. Among them was Marlton, New Jersey songbird Christina Grimmie, who’s, quite frankly, been setting that stage on fire all season long as a member of Adam Levine’s team.

In the end, she was saved, securing her a position in the finals next week alongside  Jake Worthington and Josh Kaufman. The outcome came as no surprised to Kristen Merlin, the singer who was ousted that night. She told Today that, “I knew in my heart what would happen. How do you stack up against Christina Grimmie? She’s amazing.”

Merlin isn’t the only one with high hopes for Grimmie. Levine has already said that if she makes it to the finals she’d win the competition. And fellow contestant Kat Perkins concurs: “How do you compete with someone who’s got a following like that?” Perkins said, speaking about Grimmie’s 540,000 Twitter followers. “She’s worked her butt off for several years to (develop it), long before I even thought about doing this. You can’t discount that. … I honestly do think she’ll win this whole thing.

See the outcome when the finals air next Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. on NBC.
