Creed isn’t coming out for another few weeks, but excitement is starting to build for the latest in the Rocky franchise. And this Friday, anybody who’s anybody from the film will be in Philadelphia.

Creed stars Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station), Sylvester Stallone and Tessa Thompson (Selma, Dear White People), writer/director Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station), and longtime Rocky producer Irwin Winkler will all mount the “Rocky Steps” (aka the steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art) at 11 a.m. for a press conference with Mayor Michael Nutter and Sharon Pinkenson from the Philadelphia Film Office.

If you’re expecting Rocky VII, this is not that. Creed focuses on Apollo Creed’s son, played by Jordan, and Stallone had nothing to do with writing or directing the film. He was simply a hired actor. The team of Jordan and Coogler made a lot of noise and got a lot of praise for Fruitvale Station, so here’s hoping they can do so again with Creed. The movie was filmed in Philadelphia, as it should have been.
