Cape May Zoo Named 13th Best In the World

Tripadvisor.com recently ranked the 25 best zoos in the world, and Cape May County Park and Zoo (CMCPZ) cracked the lineup at lucky number 13.

CMCPZ is the nearest one to Philly to appear on the list, sharing the accolade with biggie animal parks like Bioparc Valencia in Spain (No. 12), Zoologlischer Garten in Germany (No. 14) and the San Diego Zoo in Southern California (No. 1).

The list was compiled based on reader ratings. Visitors praise CMCPZ as clean, organized and underrated. It’s known for utilizing its natural habitat to provide the animals ample room. Its principal exhibit areas comprise a 57-acre African Savanna, a free-flight aviary and a reptile collection. They also have a handful of breeds that aren’t seen at many other national zoos, including the bald eagle and snow leopard.

The local zoo is a popular spot these days, as Trip Advisor also named it the No. 1 thing to do while visiting Cape May. The park/zoo is free and open to the public, and survives on donations by its visitors.

Road trip, anyone?
