WATCH: Downingtown’s Miles Teller in New Fantastic Four Trailer
The Internet lost its mind today when 20th Century Fox released the first trailer for Fantastic Four. The film is described as “a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team. It centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.”
One of those young outsiders is played by Downingtown’s Miles Teller, who plays Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic. You may recognize him from his recent, acclaimed performance as an ambitious drum student in Damien Chazelle’s Whiplash. (See our Q&A with Chazelle here.)
And while we’re on the topic of local connections in Fantastic Four: The film also stars Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm / The Human Torch. Jordan is currently in town filming Rocky spinoff Creed, in which he plays the grandson of Rocky’s sworn enemy Apollo Creed.
Check out the trailer below. The film comes out August 7, 2015.
