Hatboro Residents Latest to Protest New Wawa

Earlier this month, we told you that Cherry Hill residents were organizing to protest the construction of a super Wawa on Haddonfield Road. Now, over 250 citizens in Hatboro are complaining about a proposed Wawa at Horsham and York Roads. Their gripe is that two buildings—including a historical site where George Washington is said to have purchased grain for his troops in 1777—would be demolished. Preserving historical architecture with a connection to the birth of America has a little more validity than, “there will be traffic and noise and stuff.” But, an old building can’t make you a chicken salsa flatbread.
