Penn State Trustees Recount the Week Before Firing Joe Paterno

Since Jerry Sandusky was arrested in early November and charged with sexually molesting young boys, Penn State University has been the center of a national news story. We’ve heard from students, players, members of the community, the new head coach, and— this past weekend—the storied coach who spent 61 years on the school’s sidelines. Today, finally, a piece in the New York Times provides a day-by-day, conversation-by-conversation account of what the university’s Board of Trustees discussed behind closed doors and on numerous conference calls.
