HughE Dillon: The Daily News Hosts a Sexy Singles Party

Plus a pool party at G Lounge, and Jennaphr Frederick celebrates a birthday in Atlantic City

Thursday night was the Daily News 2010 Sexy Singles party at the Waterworks Restaurant.

I arrived a bit late, after a party out on the Main Line, but was glad to see a few of the sexy singles were still partying.

ABOVE: Jennifer Mundy and creator/columnist Jenice Armstrong. Jenice told me that this year’s group was very diverse. She came up with this idea after seeing how many reality shows were popping up on TV with a sexy theme, and thinking we have sexy in Philly, so she set out to find them.

ABOVE: Damon Francis, Sexy Single Monica Devlin, of Nielsen-Kellerman, and Sexy Single chef Jason Cichonski, who’s with Lacroix at the Rittenhouse. Monica tells me she’s gotten a lot of Jail Mail from inmates across the state.

ABOVE: Philadelphia Inquirer‘s fashion columnist Elizabeth Wellington, with Anthony Adams and Mark Barodale.

Jenice tells me you don’t have to be “single” to be one of the Daily News Sexy Singles; you just can’t be married. Which is exactly the category that WMMR’s Marisa Magnatta (above), producer for The Preston and Steve Show is in, here with Ron Zausidsky, her beau. She was in good company, too, because at least one quarter of the 35 Sexy Singles had squeezes.

ABOVE: Danny Schuyler and 2009 Sexy Single Erin Como.

ABOVE: Alicia Wade and Tia Haily.

ABOVE: The crowd: Rachel Day, Chris Phillips, Amber-Joi, Justin Rentzel and Sexy Single Kate Beaver. Where are you likely to find her? “Dancing the night away at G lounge or Recess.”

Speaking of G Lounge. After the party, Lauren Richmond, Brynne Ashton and I headed over there for the pool party. That’s right, a pool party. It was just a wading pool in the lounge area, but it gave some people the excuse to wear a bikini top and little else (eye candy!). ABOVE, left to right: Julia Boccia (of G Lounge), Waylon Nelson (GM of G Lounge), Brynne Ashton, Lauren Richmond and T-Fish (doorman at G Lounge).

Clear Channel’s director of promotions Joe McCollum threw a big “Dirrrty Thirtyyy” birthday party for his bestie, Philly’s own Biggest Loser contestant and on-air personality at Q102 and My106.1 Nicole Michalik, at National Mechanics on Friday night in Old City. There to wish her well, and welcome her to what was once middle-age: Q102’s Romeo, My106’s Logan, 94.1 WYSP’s Metro, NBC10’s Justin Pizzi, Fusion Cross-Training owner Gavin McKay, Fusion trainer Kiyon Harvy, CrossFit 215’s Jay Ross, former Q102 midday goddess Lisa Paige (who is now on Now 92.3 in NYC), George Waldron, Hilary Cohen, Krystle Dowling, Andrew Michalik, Amy Waldron and a host of others.

Happy Birthday tomorrow to Fox 29’s Good Day’s Jennaphr Frederick. Over the weekend Jenn, her husband Steve Frederick and her friends partied at the Chelsea Hotel in Atlantic City. Guests included Carie Brescia, Meredith McGinn, Jason Fabozzi, Cathy and Todd Henry, Tina and Dave Mattia, and Carson Kressley. Jenn tells me that to prepare for a day by the pool, she did a full body spray tan that made her look fab in her string bikini. Hopefully she will be posting that picture to FB, although she’s so shy. The crew had a cabana for the day, drinking champagne and dancing poolside. In the evening they headed over to the Borgata and Michael Schulson’s Izakaya. On Sunday, Jennaphr said, “it was back to reality,” and relieving the babysitter.
