HughE Dillon: Seventh Annual Whiskey Festival
On Wednesday night, I hit the town for a fun night of party-hopping. After hanging out at the Holiday Inn Express’s client appreciation party, I swung by Philadelphia magazine’s Seventh Annual Whiskey Festival. See my slideshow for exclusive photos from both parties! Plus, read below for details about which celebrities will be appearing in Philadelphia this month — everyone from Barbra to Kanye.
Roger Waters said “Goodbye to Blue Sky” on Monday when he arrived via private helicopter from NYC. He landed in the Lincoln Financial Field parking lot. He was then picked up via van and driven across to the Wells Fargo Center where he signed autographs for fans. He crashed at the Four Seasons before returning to the Wells Fargo to perform to sold-out crowds on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
This weekend Barbra Streisand and Mandy Patinkin are in town for events. On Saturday, Babs is attending the opening of the National Museum of American Jewish History and Patankin will appear at a fundraiser for the Center for Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Maybe later they’ll have an Yentl reunion at the Four Seasons!
DJ Jazzy Jeff will play at the new Mitchell & Ness at 1201 Chestnut Street. The private opening party will take place sometime this week. No word on if the Fresh Prince will show up.
Santa arrives at the King of Prussia mall tomorrow.
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation will host The Lemon Run 5K run/walk and kids’ race. The event is presented by Volvo and occurs this Sunday at Memorial Hall at 8:30 a.m.
The always-controversial Kanye West will be in town the night before Thanksgiving for a private listening party for his new album, My Dark Twisted Fantasy at Sigma Sound Studios. The album drops on November 22. Look for a local radio station to hold a contest to dole out tickets.
