The Face of Luxury Center City Real Estate: Joanne Davidow

Joanne’s philosophy is that you can create your own destiny with hard work and dedication, the help of some kind, smart and supportive people along the way, and plain old-fashioned good luck. She loves personally guiding buyers and sellers, marketing, pricing and negotiating on behalf of her clients. Her able assistants work by her side throughout the listing, showing and closing process.

Joanne has spent her adult years in Society Hill and Rittenhouse Square, so she knows both Center City neighborhoods well. Along with working seven days a week, Joanne has been active in her community through the years. She was president of Rittenhouse Row for five years, served for many years on the board of Friends of Rittenhouse Square, worked closely with city government on quality-of-life issues, and worked with her local realtors’ board. She has led a team of “pink warriors” for many years to raise money for Race For the Cure, leads her office in holiday drives for the People Emergency Center, and raises money for Smile Train. Joanne also loves being a mom and grandmom alongside her husband, Donnie, who she calls the “wind beneath her wings.”

As much as things have changed since Joanne started in the business, she says the basics of representing buyers and sellers have remained the same because residential real estate is essentially a very personal “people business.” Her success speaks to that message—much of her business comes to her through personal referrals.

Looking toward the future, Joanne is optimistic. ”The city always lands on its feet because Center City Philly is special,” she says.
