Allison Ballantine, Cara Rakow and Cheryl Gebeline-Myers

Allison Ballantine, MD, MEd is Associate Chief Medical Officer at the Middleman Family Pavilion, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s brand new inpatient hospital in King of Prussia, PA. Focused on the care of medically complex children in her clinical practice, Dr. Ballantine played an integral role in designing the Middleman Pavilion.

“A big focus in design was how the building and staff could come together to support patients and families during a stressful time,” she says. 

Cara Rakow, RN, MSN, CPNP is Assistant Vice President and Associate Chief Nursing Officer at the Middleman Pavilion. During her time at CHOP, she has held many leadership roles and led the development of new clinical care models. In her role at the Middleman Pavilion, Rakow ensures all patients receive CHOP’s highly advanced care, optimized for a community hospital setting. 

Cheryl Gebeline-Myers, MS is Associate Vice President of Operations at the Middleman Pavilion, where she oversees the day-to-day operations that enable CHOP’s excellent clinical care and support services. As a board member for the King of Prussia District, Gebeline-Myers leads CHOP’s community partnerships. She notes, “The new hospital provides opportunities to strengthen our partnerships and show up for the community—in words and actions.”
