East Passyunk Retail News: Mob Wives’ Boutique Closes; Three Women’s Boutiques to Open

A flurry of shop shifting on East Passyunk.

This morning, the Passyunk Post reported that Jillayne’s Boutique and Consignment will be opening in the former location of Addiction Boutique (the, er, questionably tasteful shop that belonged to former Mob Wives cast member Alicia DiMichele; DiMichele closed both Philly and Cherry Hill locations of Addiction to open Alicia DiMichele boutique in Marlton).

Jillayne’s Boutique is slated to open April 1st at 1713 South 12th Street. I spoke with owner Gary Grumbs, who said the boutique will be primarily consignment womenswear, ranging from high-end (Prada, Louis Vuitton) to more mid-range (Banana Republic and Gap). For the guys? A smattering of suits from the likes of Tom Ford and Canali.

In other East Passyunk news, Hip & Thrifty has closed; Boutique Wearhouse (which has a location in Newtown Square) will be opening in the old Sammi’s Shoe Box space; Miss Demeanor — which also has a location in Cape May — will be shuffling into the location vacated by Tom’s Prime Meats; decor shop HOME has shacked up with gift store Occasionette; and back in November, newbie Mesh Vintage opened at 1926 East Passyunk .
